Day Two - Not all Highs are on the Mountain - but that was cool too
7 am - Breakfast - wonderful huevos and queso on toast with bacon
7:45 am - depart for Ministry
9:00 am - arrive at Luz (light) y (and) Vida (life) - home for handicapped children and adults. Had our comfort zones obliterated in about the first 5 minutes as we hugged, sang, danced, fed and loved on some amazing humans. Had our hearts broken because we had to leave. Loved every minute!
1:00 pm - ate a dee-lish-us fried chicken lunch the Colombian way - with gloves on
1:30 pm - had a literal mountain top experience up at Monserrate
6:30 pm - Supper - with our good friends the Suarez family.
8:00 pm - shared our highs and lows... laughed a little, cried a little and prayed a lot
One of our biggest lows was having to leave Braxton behind with our loving friend Luz Angela - who is also our amazing cook. Braxton had a nasty flu bug so she had to stay close to home ...
So that was our day. We are "good exhausted" so today instead of our deep thoughts - we share with you a snapshot of our day.Light and Life is a great name for this place!
To protect these vulnerable little ones we needed to take extra precautions to keep them healthy. We wish we could have taken pictures in here but once again - it's important to protect these vulnerable ones!
