Final Thoughts of the 10 days in Bogota

We have been home for 3 days now.  We've caught up on sleep, done the laundry, and tried to get back into "normal" routines.  We're also processing all that we have seen, tasted, heard and felt in those wonderful 10 days.  Here are some of our thoughts....

Ezra Amendt

Hi everyone! Bogotá is behind us and what a trip it was! God taught us so much through the places we saw and the people we met, to put it into a couple sentences is impossible. Ultimately, I’m so thankful that God gave us this opportunity to minister to and witness His beautiful creation in Colombia!

Ben Block

The Colombia trip was an amazing experience overall. Each day was an encouragement to me.  Either helping the kids, teaching them, or hearing stories from the families or other missionaries were all highlights for me. Each day was an amazing day and built character and experience for me and for me that was probably one of the many things I learned there.

Luke Dau

Overall, I learned quite a bit from this trip and enjoyed it a lot. If anyone is feeling like they should go (especially next year’s grade 12s), I’d heavily recommend it.

Levi Ewert

The most significant part of this trip is how I got to see God working through His people, and how those people grow in Him day by day. Even when those people have to go through very hard situations and difficulties, they showed their love for God to us and how God provided for them. In the end I think that God works through them beautifully and that we can also show our love for God even in a small town.

Bethany Kielar

This trip has been amazing on so many levels. I feel like God has really spoken to me through the people He’s allowed me to meet and through the kids I’ve gotten to know! I am so thankful for the opportunity to be able to go and for the awesome team I got to go with! Thank you all for your meaningful prayers and support!

Ali Leischner

Hello this is Ali again.  Basically that was awesome 10/10 experience and would recommend. The only bad part was coming back and it's really cold.

Raquel Maxwell

Hey all, this is Raquel. Wow this trip has been unbelievably amazing! One of my favourite parts of this trip had been meeting missionaries who told their own stories about how God has guided them, shown them where to go, and helped them in order to shine His light in miraculous ways. Even though it is such a beautiful country, we have been to some really dark places - like the orphanage where some disabled kids grow old and never get out and also a neighborhood where kids are facing extremely hard times and suffering at home. But God is still working there and we were blessed to be a part of it. Thank you all for your prayers and support, it was a experience I’ll never forget and a place I would like to go back to someday.

Amiyah Mal

I don't even have the words to describe how unreal this was. It was everything from the beautiful people, country, and all of the experiences we had. Throughout the whole trip I could see God's hand at work and I feel so blessed to be a part of that.

Casendra Paterson

This trip was such an amazing experience in so many different ways. It was so fulfilling to be able to serve the Lord in a different country and the people there blessed me more than I could have ever hoped for. I am so thankful for the team I got to go with and if you ever get the chance to go on a trip like this I would highly recommend it !!

Eva Pryor

I can’t believe the Colombia trip is over! I’m so thankful for this opportunity to go with my friends and grow closer to Christ. What an incredible experience to serve!

Luke Tuckwell

This trip showed me how blessed we truly are and that we need to be thankful for everything we have. But also we need to be more genuine with our faith, more authentic, have more passion. The people in Colombia showed me what it’s like to be thankful for the little that they have and they’re passionate for Christ.

Hudson VanDellen

The experience was life-changing. I never done anything like this before and it pushed me out of my comfort zone. Guys doing amazing things down there, and if I have a chance I would go back to serve.

Denise Lockhart

May the seeds that have been planted in our hearts and in the lives of those that we were able to serve during these past 10 days grow and flourish. May we not forget the things that the Lord has taught us during our time here.

Peter Yeo

One of the main things God taught me in Colombia was to be persistent in making my requests known.  We need to be persistent in asking but also be open to listening to His answers.  God is really using people in Colombia who is sold out for Him!

Sheila Adkins

It's difficult to put into a couple sentences what these last days in Colombia meant.  I think for me, the people and their faith and intense love for Jesus speaks to me and challenges me in my own walk.  Thank you so much for coming along with us through these short posts and pictures.  Your prayers, words of encouragement, and financial support has meant SO much to each of us.

Stay tuned for Colombia Trip 2027 - in just 350 more days!!
