Teach - Relax - Be Inspired February 20, 2026

 Hello this Ben 

Today was overall a very good day! 

We started the day very early, having to leave around 6:00 this morning to go teach at a school that was about a two hour drive. Beth was there to accompany us the entire day and she told us many amazing stories. After we got to the school we taught for about three hours.

For lunch we got to go to a resort and ate some amazing food. We relaxed and swam for about another three hours before we went up to visit Steve and Evie Bartell (YWAM missionaries in Bogota). They had some amazing stories to tell about how they first met and how God has always provided for them when they needed it most. They also talked about how God also had many challenges for them before they went to Bogotá. 

When the stories were over it was about 2 hour drive back to where we were staying so we were are all pretty tired when we got back home. We did highs and lows of the day and then did some packing for coming back to Canada.  

Overall today was awesome and Steve and Evie were amazing people who were a real encouragement for me and also reminded me how God always provides when we need it most. Hearing how other people’s experiences is very impactful for me because it shows how God worked in their lives and how he can work in ours too.

Hi all, day nine is in the books, and what a day it was! 

I am so thankful for all the opportunities God has given us so much on this trip, and today was no exception. We started off by teaching at the school in La Vega. The kids were so happy to see us, it felt as if our presence had direct impact on their lives, and I found it very life-giving. 

Next, it was time for a little relaxation at a resort, where we met some of the coolest people: Steve and Evie Bartell. God has given them such a heart for missions, it is beautiful to witness, and hearing their stories is quite challenging to my faith. Seeing their ability to trust the Holy Spirit regardless the cost is admirable. 

Ultimately, we are tired but joyful as we draw this awesome trip to a close tomorrow.
