The First Days

It is hard to believe that it has been only 57 hours since we met in Three Hills to leave for Bogota.  I think I have heard at least 4 people ask "what day is it?" throughout the day.  Our travels took 23 hours to get us from that first bus ride to Calgary to finally arriving at our beautiful home for the next 10 days.

Thursday was a slightly relaxing day as we took naps, shower, ate, or just chilled on the couch until we left for a "mini ministry" at Hogar de Paz in Prado.  There we cleaned and organized the little space that holds 22 children every day.  We were told about some of the kids at the ministry - their back stories - and are understanding the significance of places like this.  Riley decided to leave a little of himself there, as he sliced open his thumb on a piece of glass - but overall, it was a good day.

Friday is Canada Day at El Camino Academy - our host school.  We talked to 63 groups of kids and told them all about the northern lights, farming, the flag, Niagra Falls, the RCMP, wild animals, sports, dinosaurs and arctic wildlife - all in 90 seconds of time to each group.  I think you could say that we are all experts in our topics.

A fun game of volleyball finished off the day and now we are home sweet home, smelling deliciousness coming from the kitchen thanks to our wonderful and longtime chef, Luz Angela (daughter of Berta, for those that have been here in years past)

We are blessed

We are tired

But the blessings are much more than the fatigue.

Thanks for praying!
